Parking Options at King Shaka Airport

Our parking facilities are designed for your convenience and are located just a short walk from the main terminal building. You can easily check the live flight arrivals and departures board inside before heading to the car park.

  • Multi-Story Parkade (MSP): This is the primary parking structure with thousands of covered bays. It’s ideal for both short and long-term parking and offers the best protection from the elements. Levels 2 and above are designated for public parking.
  • Shaded Parking: Located adjacent to the main parkade, this area provides shaded parking bays, offering a cost-effective alternative to the fully covered MSP. It’s suitable for all durations.
  • Long-Stay Parking: For those planning to be away for an extended period, the dedicated long-stay parking area offers the most economical rates. A complimentary shuttle service runs between the long-stay car park and the terminal building.
  • Pick-up and Drop-off Zone: Located on the outer lane of the departures level, this area is strictly for immediate drop-offs. For pick-ups, drivers should use the 20-minute free parking facility in the main parkade to await arriving passengers.

Parking Rates and Payment

Parking tariffs are calculated based on the duration of your stay. While rates are subject to change, the principle is simple: the longer you stay, the lower the daily rate becomes in the long-stay area. Payment is made easy and can be completed at one of the clearly marked pay stations located within the terminal building or in the parking lobby before you return to your vehicle. Accepted payment methods typically include cash and all major credit cards.

  • Take a Photo: Snap a quick photo of your parking bay number (e.g., Level 3, Row F) to easily find your car upon your return.
  • Allow Extra Time: During peak hours, always allow an extra 20-30 minutes for parking and walking to the terminal.
  • Keep Your Ticket Safe: Store your parking ticket in a safe place, like your wallet or travel pouch, as you will need it for payment.
  • Alternative Transport: If you prefer not to drive, consider the other transport options available, such as airport shuttles or ride-sharing services.

By planning ahead, you can ensure your journey begins and ends with convenient and hassle-free parking.
